Description
Vineyard
The organically farmed, dry grown Chestnut Hill Vineyard is located on the south-eastern border of the Yarra Valley, in the Port Phillip Zone. The chardonnay block was planted in 1985 on own rootstock at 250m above sea level, facing north-east, on heavy grey clay loam. ’18 was a warm dry year, and we picked about 1kg per vine of ripe, clean, concentrated fruit.
Winemaker's note
The wine has a seductive, round feel on entry and good mid palate weight. This old vine block of chardonnay proffers good natural extract, and a typical ripe, long acid finish.
