The McCrae-Mist vineyard is located 9km from Western Port Bay and as such is influenced by the maritime airflow from the ocean. The ‘Balnarring’ block was planted in 2000 on its own rootstock. It sits about 100m above sea level on a very slight south facing slope, with a fine sandy clay loam profile.
Hand picked and sorted, whole bunch press straight to barrel. Ambient yeast ferment and 7 months in seasoned oak, with no batonnage. Settled in tank for three months before bottling.
