Description
Vineyard
The ‘Yellingbo’ block 0.9ha is planted exclusively to the Abel clone, and the site is noticeably cooler than the valley floor. The pinot noir, planted on its own rootstock, sits about 180m above sea level on gradational red soil over duplex subsoils.
Process
Hand picked and sorted, destemmed fruit left on skins for 21 days with about 15% whole bunches. Ambient yeast ferment and racked to barrel for 8 months in seasoned oak. This wine will be settled in tank for one month before bottling. Neither fined nor filtered.
