Vineyard
The Willowlake vineyard is located in the cool Upper Yarra Valley sub-region. The block was planted in 1983. It sits about 250m above sea level on a north facing aspect, with a friable clay loam volcanic soil.
Process
Hand picked and sorted, a majority whole bunch press straight to barrel, with the remainder left on skins for 5 days. Ambient yeast ferment and 8 months in seasoned oak, with no batonnage. Settled in tank for three months before bottling.
